Enjoy an afternoon of Dixieland jazz at our next Concert & Dance session at the Sunnyvale Elks Lodge at 375 N. Pastoria Av. (directions). Last Session; August 26:

The guest band was the Zinfandel Stompers. They made their debut playing for a Jazz Society. This group was expected to become one of the better traditional bands in the area and they did not disappoint us. We heard some new takes on traditional tunes and I was impressed. The band was well received and the dancers stayed through the last set.

The jammers keep getting better all the time. Getting on the stage with the South Bay Jammers has become a prestigious accomplishment.

Next Session, September 28:

The guest band will be Bill Armstrong's Churchill Street Reunion Band. This band has always been a favorite of South Bay . Many of us remember them playing at the Flying Lady in Morgan Hill for many years. This will be a pick nick out doors at Swiss Park in Newark . (GET MAP). Bring your own food or buy it there. No outside alcohol allowed

SBTJS Couple dancing to traditional jazz band The South Bay Traditional Jazz Society (SBTJS) is dedicated to the performance, promotion and preservation of vintage jazz. An afternoon of live music is presented monthly on the 4th Sunday at the Elk's Lodge on The El Camino Real in Palo Alto California. This performance gig and dance starts at 1PM and presents 5 sets of music. The event presents nationally-known jazz bands, mixed with jamsets which feature club members who are accomplished musicians in the traditional jazz idiom. Food and drinks are available.

animated trad jazz sax The Society is a non-profit organization based in Silicon Valley, part of the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area in California. Besides the monthly jazz showcase, the club provides educational programs to help perpetuate this great music and educate young and older alike in the roots of American music from New Orleans. Related musical genres and styles of music included under the umbrella of traditional jazz, aka Dixieland music, include ragtime, blues and Spirituals.
